This farmed oyster is grown at the head of Buzzards Bay near the village onset. They are the farmed equivalent to the Wareham. They are cage-grown and never touch the floor to ensure a clean oyster. The grow-out takes 3-4 years to reach market size. They are medium to large in size and have an extremely plump meat with lots of liquor. The flavor is salty, yet the finish is sweet and reminiscent of fresh seaweed.
