Sassy Cow Dairy

Sassy Cow Dairy is a split operation with both conventional and organic herds, and in 2008 they opened their own farmstead bottling facility. Both farms are owned and operated by brothers James and Robert Baerwolf, third generation to the farm purchased by their grandfather in 1946. Their love for dairying led them to the unique situation of having two herds, traditional and organic. The traditional herd lives on the farm where the bottling facility is, and the organic cows live just one half hour north. Each cow, in both herds, is tested monthly for milk quality. The Bovine grown hormone is never used, and the organic cows are never administered any antibiotics. The feed grown for the organic cows is organic as well. The families have always farmed "with the cows taking center stage." They feel strongly that all aspects of Sassy Cow Creamery should follow this rule, resulting in milk you can feel proud to drink.
