The Village Pie Maker

Judith Ogden Larsen learned to make pies from her grandmother at age 10. Together they rolled out the perfect crust and filled it with pounds of fresh fruit fillings like raspberries, cherries, blueberries and apples. Each pie was lightly brushed with milk and sprinkled with sugar, then baked to perfection.   She began selling her homemade pies out of her pickup truck along the interstate. She regularly sold out. Customers, grocery stores and coffee shops began calling from all over the country to ask if she would send her pies to them, and The Village PieMaker was born.  The business rapidly grew out of the spare bedroom in the house, and was soon moved into a quaint brick creamery in Eustis, NE. As the business continued to grow, one thing never changed—the commitment and dedication to hand-make each pie with the best quality ingredients. “No canned stuff” has always been the company’s motto and that’s taken very seriously.
